Accessibility statement

What we have done to make this site usable for everyone, and where we know it still falls short.

  1. 01Our commitment

    This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Accessibility was treated as part of building it rather than as a check at the end.

  2. 02Contrast

    Text contrast over photography is measured, not estimated. An automated check models the exact overlay gradient against every frame of the hero video and every header photograph, and verifies each piece of text against the AA threshold for its size. The primary button was rebuilt when that check showed it at 2.94:1 against a required 4.5:1.

  3. 03Keyboard and screen readers

    Every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout. A skip link jumps straight to the main content. Frequently asked questions use the browser's own disclosure element, so they are announced correctly and work without JavaScript. Dates that are unavailable are disabled rather than only coloured, so they cannot be selected by keyboard either.

  4. 04Motion

    All animation is decorative and honours the operating system's reduced-motion setting: with it enabled, content is shown in its settled state immediately. Nothing flashes, and no motion is required to understand or use the site.

  5. 05Structure and language

    Pages use semantic headings in order, landmarks for navigation and content, and text alternatives for images. Each page declares its language, and the language switcher is available from every page.

  6. 06Known limitations

    The hero video plays automatically without sound and cannot currently be paused from the page; it stops on its own when scrolled out of view and does not play at all when reduced motion is requested. Photographs of the villa are supplied by the owner and their alternative text is written by hand, so newly added images may briefly carry a general description.
